Metal buildings are preferred by many customers as an economical option for vehicle and boat storage, recreational vehicle parking and commercial applications. This type of building is built with all steel framing internally that is either bolted or welded together and then clad with a sheet metal exterior in 26 or 29 guage metal. At Legacy Construction our preferred method for building steel buildings is pre-engineered red steel bolt up buildings with 26 guage panel roofing and 29 guage paneling for the walls.

Post-frame or pole-frame construction is a building method that relies on large poles or posts set into the ground as the primary building supports. Girts are installed horizontally and attached to posts. This allows the load to be transferred to poles and provides a surface for attaching siding etc. Typical pole buildings are clad in metal but can be sided in popular residential styles such as board and batten. This method of build style can be executed with or without concrete slabs making it a great option for animal barns.

Stick built refers to the method of utilizing 2×4, 2×6, etc dimensional lumber for the purpose of framing in a building. Stick framed buildings are the most common type used for homes and accessory structures. A traditionally framed structure can be a cost effective method for buildings and applications requiring interior finish out such as in-law suites, garage apartments and tiny homes.
